Paulette Rakestraw is an entrepreneur with a passion for business and a heart for helping people. She started her first business in 1988 at the age of 21 as a single parent. She has built multiple companies throughout her career and served in elected office in her community.
Paulette has raised three children successfully, one of which had some mental health and substance abuse issues. After trying to get help for her child with mental health issues, she became frustrated with the broken system and took matters into her own hands. She became her own expert in her child’s diagnosis in order to help clear the mental health and drug dependence. After extensively reading books from experts that specialized in the mental health disorder her child had, she began to seek out alternative resources to help clear the mental health issue and the drug dependence. In the process, she found that Imagine Laserworks was getting tremendous results and bought a franchise to help others in the Atlanta area heal their mental health and issues with drug and alcohol dependence.
Paulette served on the Board of Education in her community. This gave her a perspective on how the broken system is impacting all of our children and families and she wanted to help improve things. She began in 2011 serving in the Georgia Legislature as a State Representative. During that time her passion to fix mental health and issues with drug and alcohol dependence in our state grew. When she left the legislature she started Imagine Laserworks of Northwest Atlanta and she is working to build awareness of this innovative solution. Her child is now drug free and is successfully functioning in society. Imagine Laserworks was an integral part of her child’s transformation and she wants to help others get on a healing road to recovery and stay there in an affordable way.
